The event has become Brooksee’s largest inaugural event in company history

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Event producer and technology company Brooksee kicked off the inaugural Phoenix Marathon on Dec. 13 with more than 7,200 registered runners from across the country taking part. All 50 states were represented in the field, as well as over 12 countries. The field size has marked history for Brooksee, as it is now the largest inaugural event that the company has ever produced. The event offered three distances, a marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 10K (6.2 miles). All three courses showcased routes that captured the city’s character and energy, with every mile taking place fully within Phoenix city limits.

Jake Heslington, the men’s full marathon champion and first-place finisher, completed the 26.2 miles in 2:19:29, followed by second-place finisher JJ Santana in 2:22:11 and third-place finisher Luke Francis in 2:25:02. The women’s full marathon was led by Tiaree Towler, who finished in 2:45:23. Second and third-place finishers in the women’s division were Shanna Birchett in 2:55:13 and Jessalyn Sadler in 2:55:54.

The men’s half marathon was led by Jackson Siddall, who finished in 1:03:15, followed by Awet Beraki and Ethan Gregg. Caroline Garrett topped the women’s half marathon division with a time of 1:17:13 with Dot McMahan and Amy Hoagland taking second and third-place. In the 10K distance, Milo Greder won the men’s division in 29:12. Sammy McClintock led the women’s division with a time of 33:25.  Full race results can be found here.

“Watching thousands of runners fill the streets of Phoenix with community members cheering them along the way reminded us why we pursued bringing a city signature marathon to this amazing city,” said Phil Dumontet, CEO of Brooksee, producer of the Phoenix Marathon. “The city truly shined, showing up with energy, pride and support. We are grateful to our participants, sponsors and spectators who helped bring the desert spirit of the Phoenix Marathon to life. We’re excited to build on the momentum of our inaugural edition and solidify this event’s place as a world-class marathon deeply rooted in the community.”

Participants of the marathon were taken on a course touring through the City of Phoenix, beautifully highlighting the Valley of the Sun, where they experienced a flat course ideal for earning a Boston qualifier. Both half and full marathon participants journeyed down the famous Camelback Road before passing through the scenic Biltmore area, taking in beautiful neighborhoods, desert landscapes and views of Camelback Mountain, just a few blocks from the famed Arizona Biltmore Resort. Participants of all three distances finished by crossing the finish line just outside of Phoenix Municipal Stadium, home of the Sun Devils.
