| FALMOUTH, Mass. – The annual Shipwrecked Falmouth in the Fall (FITF) returns on Sunday, Nov. 2, and, with limited spots available, registration is expected to sell out quickly once again this year. 2025’s edition marks the 45th running of the race, which takes 1,500 participants along the same 7-mile course as the organization’s ASICS Falmouth Road Race. Those interested in registering can visit www.falmouthinthefall.com at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 when access to the finite number of spots opens. “Shipwrecked Falmouth in the Fall gives runners a chance to see a different side of our community and our race course,” said Megan Faulkner, executive director of Falmouth Road Race Inc.. “Both locals and visitors will enjoy cool temperatures and a boutique race experience. We encourage those interested in joining us to set their alarms, as we expect registrations to sell out in the first 24 hours.” As with the ASICS Falmouth Road Race, participating runners receive special swag and access to race week events. They can pick up their 2025 FITF pom-pom hat and bib at one of the pre-race parties taking place at various local venues like The Run House and Shipwrecked. There, they will also be treated to special deals and offers. The Finish Festival and Beer Garden at Shipwrecked Restaurant is where finishers will receive a bag with post-race refreshments, shop for exclusive race merchandise, enjoy photo opportunities and participate in games. They will also be treated to complimentary chowder and other refreshments. Other community partners supporting the event are Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS), Absolut, Jack in the Beanstalk, and The Run House. Shipwrecked Falmouth in the Fall has been held each autumn since 1979, and is marking five years under the direction of Falmouth Road Race, Inc. The seven-mile race was founded by Jack Oser, along with Jim and Betty Gehris, long-time Falmouth Road Race volunteers. Each year, a portion of the proceeds of the event are donated to a featured charity partner to assist in the work it does to support the Falmouth community. The course for Shipwrecked Falmouth in the Fall is an open race course. Streets are open to traffic, so it is important for participants to stay to the right (running with traffic) and always be aware of their surroundings. Due to this element, the race will have a ‘pulse start’ and jogging strollers and dogs are not permitted.
