Annual Bike the Coast Cycling Event Returns with Oceanfront Riding and One-of-a-Kind Finish Festival FeaturesMultiple ride distances invite cyclists of all levels to experience San Diego’s iconic beach cities SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Bike the Coast makes its annual return to San Diego’s Highway 101 on Saturday, Nov. 1, bringing an expected 1,600 riders a variety of scenic courses and cycling fun. Participants of all ages and experience levels can join, choosing from distances ranging from seven to 100 miles. All participants begin and end their rides at the Oceanside Pier, followed by the Bike the Coast Finish Festival. Registration is now open for all riding events. The Bike the Coast Finish Festival will feature local food and drinks, live rock music by Gone Blonde and a beer garden hosted by BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, with proceeds benefiting Bike MS. The annual Finish Fest is open to the public, providing a perfect way to celebrate the community. Whether you’re cheering on riders, enjoying the oceanfront, or looking for a day of festival fun, everyone is welcome. “Bike the Coast is back, and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Mike Bone, President and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, producer of Bike the Coast. “From family-friendly routes to challenging rides for seasoned cyclists, there is truly something for everyone. Participants can take in San Diego’s stunning coastline along the way, then celebrate together at our lively Finish Festival, enjoying the sun, great food and drinks, and connecting with the community after an unforgettable ride. Come for the ride, stay for the party.” Bike the Coast offers five distances for participants to choose from: seven miles, 15 miles, 25 miles, 50 miles and 100 miles. Riders on the 25, 50 and 100-mile routes will journey through multiple historic beach towns, including Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar, experiencing oceanfront scenery along the way. Those on the seven and 15 mile courses will enjoy a leisurely ride along the scenic San Luis Rey River Trail, perfect for taking in the natural beauty of the area. Class one and two e-bikes are welcome on all routes, while Class three e-bikes are not permitted on bike paths, protected lanes or the designated ride routes. Bike the Coast proudly supports Ride MS and the National MS Society, a leader in funding research, advocacy, and programs for people living with multiple sclerosis. Proceeds from the post-ride beer garden, along with rider donations, benefit Bike MS, connecting participants with the MS community and helping advance research. Riders can also make additional contributions to support this important cause.
