| More than 8,300 runners take over Monterrey streets in an electrifying edition of the Powerade Monterrey Marathon Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico Monday 15 December 2025 The city of Monterrey once again confirmed its place on the international running map as the Powerade Monterrey Marathon 2025 delivered a race day filled with intensity, elite-level competition and massive participation. More than 8,300 runners across multiple categories took part in the event, starting at 6:45 a.m. from Parque Fundidora, as the starting gun sent the field onto the main avenues of the metropolitan area. The men’s elite race delivered a thrilling, photo-finish showdown, as Abe Gashahun of Ethiopia claimed victory in the final moments of the race. | The four-second difference between first and second place highlighted the intensity of a race that remained undecided until the final straight. In the women’s competition, Isabel Guadalupe Oropeza delivered a dominant and composed performance, crossing the finish line in 02:38:00 to secure first place. | A route through the heart of Monterrey The course took runners from Parque Fundidora through Avenida Revolución, Garza Sada and Lázaro Cárdenas, entering San Pedro Garza García via Calzada del Valle, before descending through Humberto Lobo and returning along Morones Prieto toward the finish line. Spectators lined the streets throughout the route, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere that pushed athletes forward from start to finish. With another successful year completed, the Powerade Monterrey Marathon now sets its sights on 2026, when the event will celebrate its 20th edition, promising an even bigger, faster and more memorable experience. Runners from Mexico and around the world are already invited to be part of what is shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of running in Monterrey.
