NYCRUNS is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Full Charge Bookkeeper. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will be a key member of the team that supports the planning and execution of approximately two-dozen NYCRUNS events annually, including the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon.

The Full Charge Bookkeeper will oversee day-to-day financial operations for multiple entities. Primary responsibilities include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Expense Management for individual events, as well as the company as a whole. This position works closely with the CEO and COO as well as external CFO and CPA to ensure accuracy in reporting and planning.

In addition to serving in the capacity described above, this individual will also be a vital part of the event operations team with the role largely proscribed in line with their experience in event operations.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Prepare invoices in conjunction with executed partnership agreements and assist in collections thereof.

·         Post invoices in QuickBooks and prepare a weekly payment request for the COO.

·         Ensure all contractors and vendors provide appropriate documentation for payment and insurance.

·         Maintain prepaid and accrual schedules in accordance with GAAP and review the GL postings monthly.

·         Prepare balance sheet reconciliations after month-end close.

·         Track expenses for forecasting and budgeting future events. Prepare post-event reports analyzing expenditures with recommendations for managing costs.

·         Process payroll, including employee reimbursements on a biweekly basis. Prepare the accompanying journal entries for posting.

·         Implement policies and procedures for loss prevention throughout the company and monitor compliance throughout.

·         Work with external auditors and CPAs as required to prepare and review financial reporting. Ensure year end deadlines are met.

·         Fulfill key roles at all events, including the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon. Attendance at 90%+ of all races is mandatory.

·         Assist the Operations Team in securing permitting and COIs for all events.

·         Collaborate with the Operations Team in the development of key documents including the Run of Show, Packing List, and Event Plan. Effectively communicate event plans and updates with the Event Team

·         Assist with other projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS

·         3-5 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping operations. You must be comfortable working with intercompany accounts.

·         Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Power Point.

·         1-2 years of professional experience in the endurance event industry preferred

·         Ability to multitask across projects with outstanding communication skills

·         Ability to work weekend events and to participate in evening meetings, as required

·         Mandatory attendance at 90% of races

·         Ability to travel for events, client meetings, and site visits

·         Self-driven with an ability to prioritize, create timelines and hold yourself accountable

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA license is preferred but not required.

DETAILS

This is a full-time position. This position is hybrid remote/on-site with weekly scheduled office hours.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $85,000 to $105,000. Final offer amounts will be determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
