SPECIAL NOTE FROM David Monti:
More than 30 years ago Race Results Weekly was born as a weekly fax service providing quick results for a handful of road races. Against long odds it grew into the world’s most comprehensive source of middle and long distance running results, providing detailed results summaries from thousands of events each year. The publication was transmitted 50 to 51 times a year, was never missed, and was rarely late.
David compiled RRW whether he was home or away, healthy or ill, and even from planes, trains and automobiles. He was always motivated to serve his subscribers week after week, and it was subscribers support and faith in him and his team that kept RRW going.
After more than 30 years the weekly results newsletter has crossed the finish line. For 2025 RRW will convert exclusively into an editorial service, providing his subscribers with even more high quality event coverage (including photos by Jane Monti), athlete feature stories, and event and industry news. With the success of results portals like Athlinks, the World Athletics calendar system, TFRRS, and others, running results are more widely available than ever and easier to find. I know that all of you will find the results you are looking for without RRW.
I want to thank our three assistant editors –Bob Ramsak, Chris Lotsbom and Carlos Fernandez Canet– for their great work over the years. I’d also like to thank our regular results contributors: Riël Hauman, Brett Larner, Mirko Jalava, Zbigniew Jonik, Peter Larsson, Mark Butler, Ryan Lamppa, Heinrich Hubbeling, Ram. Murali Krishnan, Alfons Juck, Alberto Stretti, Carole Fuchs, Sergey Tikhonov, and Ken Nakamura. Without you I could never have published RRW for so long.
A special thank you to our circulation manager and photographer (and my wife!) Jane Monti for her incredible support after joining RRW in 2001. I would never have made it without her.
Each of you has been automatically subscribed to the editorial service and we hope you will stay with us. This year will be a big one in athletics and we have a lot to cover!
Happy New Year,
David Monti, Editor & Publisher
