WHISTLER, B.C. (Aug. 25, 2026) – Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB® roared back for its third edition this past weekend, sending trail runners across rugged alpine terrain in four different distances: 100K, 50K, 25K, and 10K. Set against river crossings, high alpine vistas, and dense evergreen forest, the race unfolded on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lil’wat (L̓il̓wat7úl) and Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh) Nations, whose stewardship of this land the event continues to honor. This year’s edition also marked a shift for the race, moving from its original September date to a new mid-August slot, landing just a week ahead of the HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc Finals in Chamonix, France. In the 100K, American Dylan Flewelling powered to the men’s title in 11:34:05, holding off France’s Maxime Grosjean, who crossed in 12:01:49, and Canada’s Brandon Gardiner, who edged into third just 36 seconds behind Grosjean in 12:02:25. Great Britain’s Tina Muir took the women’s crown in 12:18:40, a run strong enough to place her fourth overall, with Canada’s Corinne Lemay Gaudet second in 13:05:17 and fellow Canadian Arden Young rounding out the podium in 13:38:13.The 50K delivered one of the tightest finishes of the weekend, with just 23 seconds separating the entire men’s podium. New Zealand’s Jackson Cole broke the tape first in 5:24:56, followed by Canada’s Shaun Stephens-Whale (5:25:11) and Joshua Potvin (5:25:19). Notably, both Cole and Potvin had raced Beast of Big Creek earlier this August, arriving at Whistler already sharp. On the women’s side, American Maya Rayle claimed the win in 5:59:48 with Germany’s Lotti Brinks close behind in 6:00:29 and American Ruby Lindquist completing the top three in 6:02:04. the entire women’s podium finished within just over two minutes of each other.Sunday’s shorter distances brought the celebration home. In the 25K, Canada’s Seb Gulka claimed the men’s win in 2:27:28, trailed by American Kaeden Brinkman (2:30:29) and fellow American Nicholas Eiben (2:34:41). Canada’s Patricia Roney topped the women’s field in 2:38:09, with Nicole Ticea second in 2:42:39 and American Carolyn Smith third in 2:42:55. The 10K rounded out the program as a beginner-friendly discovery route showcasing highlights of the longer courses.

“Every year, this race asks something different of our runners, and every year they answer,” said Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB Race Director Alyssa Reyes. “Watching our 100K and 50K athletes take in the beauty of our courses while rising to the challenge of our toughest trails, and seeing our 25K and 10K runners tackle Whistler Blackcomb for the first time, reminded all of us why we do this. Moving the race to August gave us incredible conditions on course, and our runners made the most of every kilometer. We’re endlessly grateful to our volunteers and to the Whistler community for hosting us.”

All finishers of races at the Ultra Trail Whistler by UTMB® (with the exception of the 10km race) collected running stones that can be applied to the UTMB Mont-Blanc draw.
