Tulsa’s most historic race returns Oct. 31 for its 49th running

TULSA, Okla. (Aug. 13, 2026) — The TTCU Tulsa Run will return to downtown Tulsa on Saturday, Oct. 31, bringing a Halloween twist to one of the city’s longest-running traditions.

Now in its 49th year, the event will welcome runners and walkers for the 2K, 5K, 15K, and Double races. Costumes are encouraged across every distance, giving participants an opportunity to add some Halloween spirit to their race-day experience.

This year, even the familiar Tulsa Run Running Man is dressing up. The 2026 finisher medal collection gives the Running Man a playful costume makeover, visually aligning one of the race’s most recognizable symbols with its Halloween date. Each distance will feature a different costumed version of the Running Man, giving every participant a Halloween-inspired keepsake at the finish line.

“This year’s medals capture what makes the Tulsa Run so much fun while keeping the familiar Running Man at the center of the design,” said Destiny Green, executive director of the TTCU Tulsa Run. “Seeing him dressed for Halloween gives each distance its own personality and gives runners something special to look forward to at the finish line.”

Halloween may bring a few new characters to the course, but underneath the masks, capes, and costumes, participants can expect the same historic, challenging, and unmistakably local Tulsa Run experience.

The event offers a distance for participants of all ages and experience levels. The 2K provides an approachable option for families, walkers, and younger runners, while the 5K offers a shorter tour through Tulsa. The signature 15K continues the classic challenge that has defined the event for nearly five decades. Those looking for an additional challenge can register for the Double and complete in both the 5K and 15K.

“As a member-owned credit union, supporting the communities our members and employees call home is central to who we are,” said Shelby Beil, TTCU CEO & President. “The Tulsa Run brings people together around a tradition that has belonged to Tulsa for nearly five decades, and we are excited to help welcome runners, walkers and spectators back to downtown Tulsa.”

The 2026 courses will remain unchanged from last year, giving returning participants another opportunity to take on familiar streets, revisit favorite stretches, and plan where friends and family can cheer them on.

For longtime participants, the Tulsa Run is a tradition shared among families, running groups, and generations of Tulsans. For those joining the event for the first time, it is an opportunity to become part of one of Tulsa’s most enduring community events and experience the city in a way that can only happen on race morning.

Registration for the 2026 TTCU Tulsa Run is open. Participants can choose their distance, begin planning their costumes, and register at tulsarun.com.
