Thousands took part in the scenic race that has raised over $25 million for nonprofit organizations
NAPA VALLEY, Calif. – The 22nd annual Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon and Rosé 5K took over 5,700 participants along its scenic courses on July 25-26. The race has seen consistent growth in demand for entries, selling out over a month ahead of race weekend this year. Over its 22-year history, the race has also served as a fundraiser for various nonprofits, with its charity partners fundraising over $25 million.
The event partnered with The Michael J. Fox Foundation as its National Featured Charity. After selling out general entries, the event sold a limited number of additional registrations, where $100 from every registration was donated to support Parkinson’s research. Team Fox, the grassroots fundraising program of The Michael J. Fox Foundation, had over 50 fundraisers taking part in the weekend’s events with a collective goal of raising $75,000.
The 2026 race also featured one-of-a-kind participant perks fit for the wine country setting, including a wine festival featuring over 30 wineries, new partnerships that elevated the participant experience, unique giveaways and VIP offerings. Along the courses, participants experienced scenic areas of the world-famous Napa and Sonoma regions, journeying through multiple globally recognized vineyards, ranches and farms. A unique view this year was of hot air balloons that were launched at the start of the race. Over the years, the race has earned high honors from the running community. The event’s post-race celebration was recognized by Runner’s World as “the best post-race festival in America,” and Forbes named it one of the “Top 7 Most Scenic Half Marathons in the U.S.” Most recently, Traveler named it among “11 of the Coolest Marathon Courses Around the Globe.”
Race participants of the 2026 Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon and Rosé 5K received a commemorative tasting glass once crossing the finish line. Rosé 5K participants receive a specialized rosé tasting glass they could use to taste local rosés after the race, while Half Marathon participants receive their own custom wine glass to sample wines from more than 25 local wineries at the post-race Wine Festival.
“This race is curated to provide a unique experience where participants get to celebrate their running accomplishments and also celebrate the incredible wine country community that hosts us every year,” said Crystian Kumnick, Managing Director of Motiv Sports, producer of the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon and Rosé 5K. “For over two decades this event has created a great collaboration opportunity for running and wine lovers, and has grown into a top destination race in the country. Our team looks forward to continuing the race’s growth, bringing even more exciting elements in the years to come.”
