David Bruce Watt was a man of many accomplishments, among which was service to the running community as leader of the American Running Association, sponsorship manager of the Marine Corp Marathon, creator of the high school running event, ‘Battle of the Potomac, and Run-a-Mile events nationwide, volunteer coach of high schoolers in cross-country. He himself completed 20 marathons.

Dave fought a 43-year battle with skin cancer, and finally succumbed to complications from head and neck cancer. Throughout his ordeal, Dave never complained and continued to live his live to the fullest.

Dave will be sorely missed.
