| PEORIA, IL – (June 11, 2026) – On a warm, sunny, humid Saturday morning on June 6, at the fifth stop on the 2025-26 PRRO Circuit, Ahmed Muhumed from Flagstaff, AZ and Kasandra Parker from Guttenberg, IA won the Steamboat Classic 4 Mile Presented by PNC in 17 minutes, 57 seconds and 20:16. For Parker, it was her second straight PRRO Circuit victory, also winning the Lilac Bloomsday Run 12K in May. The event also served as the USATF 4 Mile Championship, with Muhumed earning his third USA road title (also 2024 USA 5K & 8K) and Parker, her first national title. At the 52nd edition, the race winners also earned automatic eligibility to compete for the $10,000 PRRO Super Bonus at the 29th PRRO Championship hosted by the Quad-City Times Bix 7 on July 25, 2026 in Davenport, IA. The men’s race came down to a two-man battle between Muhumed and Reid Buchanan. Like his strategy to recently win Bloomsday, Buchanan struck in the final half mile, but Muhumed, 28, answered the surge and pulled away with 200 meters left to secure a three second margin of victory over Buchanan, 17:57 to 18:00. Graydon Morris, the 2026 USA 10 Mile champion at Credit Union Cherry Blossom, took third in 18:05. In the women’s race, similar to her 2026 Bloomsday triumph, Parker, 26, took control at the halfway point and never looked back for the unchallenged win. Rachael Rudel, the Bloomsday runner-up, finished second in 20:23, followed closely by Allie Ostrander in 20:24. Overall, the race paid out $42,000 in U.S. Open prize money plus $3000 2 Mile Prime bonus money ($1000, Anthony Rotich, finished in top 10, and $2000, Parker, won race too). As race champions, Muhumed and Parker earned $6000 each. In addition, Steamboat finishers 2-5 earned points (6, 5, 4, 3, 2) for the PRRO Circuit points system, with the top 5 scorers per gender before Bix 7 also qualifying to compete for the PRRO Super Bonus at the championship race. For his third place finish, Graydon Morris earned 4 points to move into the top spot in the men’s points rankings with 14 points, and Rachael Rudel scored 10 points based on her runner-up finish to move into the women’s second position with 16 points. The top 5 current points leaders are: for men, Graydon Morris (USA), Mezgebu Sime (ETH), James Mwaura (USA), Wesley Kiptoo (KEN), Getinet Gedamu (ETH) & William Amponsah (GHA), and for women, Everlyn Kemboi (KEN), Rachael Rudel (USA), Molly Born (USA), Fiona O’Keeffe (USA) & Cynthia Limo (KEN).
