With support from Visit Ventura, the inaugural event will welcome a rules of the road bike tour to the city while benefiting a great cause

VENTURA, Calif. – Spectrum Sports Management Inc., a recognized leader in endurance and sporting events in Southern California, has announced the expansion of its popular “rules of the road” bike tour with the launch of Bike the Coast Ventura. The event welcomes riders of all ages and experience levels, offering three course options: the Metric Century 65-mile ride, a 35-mile ride and the rider’s favorite 17-mile family ride. Bike the Coast Ventura will benefit the National MS Society and Bike MS, organizations dedicated to supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis through research, advocacy, and community programs. The event has been made possible with the support of Visit Ventura. Registration for the 2026 event is now open.

“We are beyond stoked to welcome Bike the Coast as they expand their tour to include our small beach town,” said Marlyss Auster, president and CEO of Visit Ventura. “I experienced the event in Oceanside, where it’s been thriving for more than a decade, and the energy from the riders was electric, pure joy on two wheels. Bringing that spirit to Ventura is more than a partnership; it’s what happens when two teams dream big and create something special. Adventure and the outdoors are in our DNA, making this the perfect fit. We can’t wait to showcase Ventura’s natural beauty, our vibrant community and a whole lot of heartfelt stoke.”

“Bike the Coast has been one of my favorite projects since we aquired it back in 2017. The emphasis on it being a leisure ride and not a race has made it into an event truly for all to enjoy, and gives participants the opportunity to explore some of the most scenic areas California has to offer,” said Mike Bone, president and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, producer of Bike the Coast Ventura. “We can’t wait to introduce this community-centric event to Ventura, and couldn’t be more thankful for the Visit Ventura team, as they have been instrumental in helping us make this dream a reality.”

Participants of the Metric Century 65-Mile ride will enjoy a tour of the coastline with some hills in neighboring cities. The 35-mile and 17-mile ride will also highlight constant ocean views along their rules of the road routes.  All courses are stocked with support and gear locations to ensure riders are provided opportunities to rest and nourish. Once participants wrap up their rides, they will get to celebrate their accomplishments at the free and open-to-the-public Finish Festival, featuring a lively atmosphere with an emphasis on community vendors.

This year’s Finish Festival features local food and drinks, live music, local restaurants providing post ride meals, and a beer garden hosted by Ventura Coast Brewing Company with proceeds benefiting Bike MS and local non-profits. With Bike the Coast’s expansion into Ventura, they are continuing their partnership with the National MS Society and Bike MS, organizations dedicated to supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis through research, advocacy and community programs. Founded in 1946, the National MS Society has been a global leader in the movement to create a world free of MS. Proceeds from the post-ride beer garden, along with rider donations, will contribute to the cause, helping advance research and connect participants with the MS community.

The original Bike the Coast is hosted in San Diego County, and is entering its fifteenth year of riding. The San Diego event takes participants through multiple San Diego County historic beach towns, including Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar. The continued growth of the event has led to its expansion into Ventura, where riders are able to enjoy what Bike the Coast is all about: a leisure oceanside ride with a post-race party that gets people to “Come for the Ride – Stay for the Party”. The 2025 Bike the Coast San Diego ride saw great results in fundraising efforts as well, as it raised over $10,000 for Bike MS, a record amount for the event after it only being their third year partnering with the organization.
