Position Summary

Acknowledging the critical role bicycle retailers play in the bicycle industry and in communities across the country, PeopleForBikes is hiring a Retail Engagement Manager to join our research team. This position will focus on creating and executing a plan to recruit and engage bicycle retailers to participate in a data-sharing program that will help improve individual retailers’ businesses and serve the industry as a whole. This position reports to the Bicycle Industry Senior Research Manager.

  • 5+ years of experience working directly in retail or with retailers (with a strong preference for bicycle retail)
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to travel to meet with bicycle retailers
  • Deep understanding of metrics related to retail sales and inventory
  • Familiarity with retail point-of-sale systems (Ascend, Lightspeed POS, Shopify, etc.)
  • Understanding of how retailers can use retail sales and inventory metrics to grow their businesses
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Passionate about PeopleForBikes’ mission and the power of the bike to make life great.
  • A commitment to safe, healthy, reliable, and affordable access to bicycling for all members of a community.

  • Our office is ADA accessible. This role will require the use of a laptop for several hours and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time and work for several hours in event spaces

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a plan to recruit bicycle retailers to share POS retail sales and inventory data
  • Effectively engage bicycle retailers across the U.S. to create a data product that helps them grow their businesses
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create materials that effectively communicate the benefits of POS data sharing to retailers
  • Continually engage with retailers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and seek additional opportunities for collaboration and high customer service
  • Work collaboratively with the data and analytics team to evolve and grow the product and program to meet the needs of retailers and the bike industry
  • Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into professional work and commit to personally growing in this space
  • Travel to our conferences and meetups, and up to 50% additional travel, are required to fulfill the role
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation and Benefits

This “at-will” position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience of $65,000–$77,000. The starting salary is based on the education and experience of the final candidate. Location

PeopleForBikes is based in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, with offices in Boulder and the “Mountain Bike Capital of the World” Bentonville, Arkansas. If you are located in Colorado or Arkansas, we create a great environment during in-office days and have a standard hybrid working environment. If you are not in the area, we require travel to meet the team for periodic all-staff gatherings. This is in addition to the travel necessary for the role.
