
DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 10, 2025) – The Quad-City Times Bix 7 held its annual press conference this week, highlighting many new, exciting things taking place for its 51st year, as well as returning favorites.
- On July 22, the Senior Bix, sponsored by The Bechtel Trusts, will return, taking place along the picturesque Mississippi River in Bettendorf. With the option of 1 or 2-miles, all runners and walkers 50 years and older who register for the Bix 7 or Quick Bix gain FREE entry into the Senior Bix race.
- New community celebrations are taking place Thursday – Saturday of race week with Downtown Davenport Partnership, Visit Quad Cities and the Hilltop Campus Village. They’ll feature music, food and family-friendly activities at MLK park, K-Square and block parties on 2nd and 3rd Streets. More details can be found here.
- July 24 features the opening of the Running Wild Sport and Fitness Expo, held at the RiverCenter. We finish the day with the exciting MercyOne Genesis Brady Street Sprints at 7 pm on Brady Street hill.
- The Friday Morning Shakeout Run, July 25, has become a fan favorite. Join legends Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit Samuelson at 8 am in front of the John Deere Pavillion in Moline for a 2-mile easy run in preparation for Saturday’s race.
- The Arconic Jr Bix takes place on July 25 at 6 pm. All children 0-12 are encouraged to register and participate in their own Bix race.
- On July 26, Davenport is the place to be.
- Participants can decide race morning if they want to complete the Quad-City Times Bix 7 or the Prairie Farms Quick Bix.
- Our Start Line Opening Ceremonies are sponsored by Russell Group, adding to their Platinum sponsorship.
- Two of America’s great long distance runners will be on the streets of Davenport: Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit Samuelson.
- Over 40 pro athletes will take to the streets, vying for over $65,000 in prize money sponsored by Premier Buick GMC. Every runner and walker will “Run with the Best”!
- Bix 7 is a member of the Professional Road Running Organization Circuit, drawing a competitive field of elite runners to the event.
- The Walmart Post Race Party will see the addition of a Friends and Family Gathering Area. More details will follow on this exciting space.

- Participants can train to Run with the Best at the Iowa American Water Bix @ 6 training runs, held on a secure course June 26, July 2, July 10 and July 17.

The 51st annual Quad-Cities Times Bix 7 will continue its tradition of giving back to the community. The charity partner for 2025 is MercyOne Genesis Outpatient Pediatric Therapy (GOPEDS). Dollars raised will help GOPEDS therapists to provide physical, speech and occupational therapy for children in the Quad Cities.
