Duties
Responsibilities include real property management, consumable supplies management, property and overseeing supply purchasing, initiating contracted services, coordinating logistical requirements with public officials, facility management and warehousing operations. Duties include the receiving, issuing and accountability of equipment, supplies and other property with the value of over $5 million; reconciliation of three warehouse locations and management of property; logistical planning and budget input; maintaining government property accounts; managing and overseeing MCMO building and grounds maintenance.
Initiates and negotiates public right of ways, public permits and support agreements with local, county, state and federal agencies, including but not limited to Cities of Alexandria, Virginia and Washington DC, Arlington County, State of Virginia, National Park Service, the Nation’s Capital, the Pentagon and numerous other military installations. Negotiates fees and support costs from agencies. Plans, implements, and executes all operations needs for the MCMO’s running events. Works with sponsors and partners to ensure compliance. Manages course operations by ensuring race measurement and certification, determines replenishment needs and coordinates security of all aspects of the races to include medical support. Provides input for the operations budget. Instructs Special Project Officer in their duties, holds conferences and meetings, and conducts race site visits. Acts as contracting officer representative for several large contracts for operational support, such as tents, porta-potties, barricades, and directional signage and provides insight for all logistical needs
Manage property accounts including MCMO property, Marine Corps Base (MCB) property, plant property, MCMO memorandum accounts and special tool list. Prepares and maintains gain/loss records, inventory, and data sheets for the Responsible Officer (RO). Produce cover and assignment letters and reports as required. Performs other related property management duties which include coordinating and supervising daily issues, recovery and accountability of equipment and supplies in support of the marathon and supporting road races and other related support activities.
Manages MCMO fleet and oversees transportation for the movement of property. Ensures adherence to all state, local and installation traffic laws and regulations. Manages and oversees warehouse operations. Research, implements, and manages warehouse inventory control programs and supervisors inventory control. Warehouse responsibilities include planning for storage, arrangement of stock in accordance with agency regulations, determining configuration, setup, movement, and traffic flow.
Manages and maintains MCB facilities assigned to the MCMO; including the identification of required maintenance, initiation, coordination and tracking of maintenance work orders and work performed. Provides input on facilities requirements and coordinates approved renovation projects. Identifies, initiates, and coordinates contracted services; portable toilets, tents, produce, fuel, ice, helium, propane, trash removal, staging and barricades, and other event-related services as required. Coordinates the logistical requirements, delivery of equipment and supplies, placement of equipment, and utilization of public property with federal, state and local officials within the MCMO public permit areas.
Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending, and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews, and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action.
May be required to travel to attend MCMO races, meetings and expos to promote races and events. May assist in preparations for MCMO races and events by setting up cones, tents, start and finish lines and other race requirements. May observe race protocol and practices by attending other races within the running industry and learning how they prepare, plan and execute races. May be required to stand for extended periods of time.

Ask questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction with the quality of goods and services. Take action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Qualifications
A minimum of four years experience in logistics management or related area which includes some supervisory experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or Business Management is preferred.
Must have excellent organizational skills. Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
Strong writing and oral communication skills. Lifting up to 45 lbs may be required.
