Starting Line 1928 – The Alisa Harvey Interview



The Starting Line 1928 project is a series of podcast interviews that for the first time tells women running history stories about the early years of our sport. This includes interviews with African American women long distance running pioneers.

Alisa Harvey is one of the greatest all-around women middle and long distance runners in the history of our sport. Her range of excellence on the track and road coupled with decades of competitive racing is unprecedented.

Alisa was inducted into the National Black Distance Runners Hall of Fame in 2019. Take a listen to her inspiring story. The interview was conducted by running journalist Cindy Kuzma a member of the Starting Line – 1928 leadership team.
