New Locations for MCM Runners Village and MCM Kids Run Announced

Both events will now be hosted in National Landing


QUANTICO, VA (September 12, 2022) – The Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) announced new locations for the 2022 Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) Runners Village and MCM Kids Run during a press conference this morning at Long Bridge Park in National Landing.

The 2022 Runners Village Gateway for the MCM and MCM50K will now be located at the intersection of Army Navy Drive and S. Fern Street. Upon entering the Gateway, runners will now proceed along Army Navy Drive and up Route 110 to access several banks of port-a-johns and the United Parcel Service (UPS) Baggage Trucks on their way to the Start Line. The baggage trucks will be open from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. 

Participants can still utilize the Pentagon metro station to access the Runners Village Gateway as well as the Pentagon City station. The metro will open at 5:00 a.m. to assist with transportation on event morning.

Children, ages 5 to 12, participating in the MCM Kids Run will now take on a secured and fun one mile course through Long Bridge Park in Arlington, Va., mostly utilizing the beautiful esplanade. Dozens of uniformed Marines will be located throughout the route as well as the Family Link Up tent, start and finish line to ensure all children are motivated and safe.

This year also marks the return of the Healthy School Awards, awarded to the top five schools with the most registered student participants. This award includes a $1,000 monetary donation to the school’s physical education department from MCMO partner, Sodexo.

Free parking is available for both the MCM Kids Run and for the Runners Village Gateway at the underground lot located at 23rd and Crystal Drive. A shuttle will be provided to transport participants for both days.
