QUANTICO, VA (April 6, 2022) – The Marine Corps Marathon Organization (MCMO) opens registration today at noon EST for the popular MCM10K, presented by Navy Federal Credit Union, and the MCM Kids Run events at www.marinemarathon.com.
The live and in-person MCM10K starts on the National Mall and finishes at the United States Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Va. on Sunday, October 30. Entry for the live and in-person 6.2 mile event is open to runners ages 7 and older and costs $65. A virtual option for the MCM10K is also available for $65 for domestic runners and $95 for international runners. All participants will receive the official event shirt, an impressive finisher medal and more.
Ambitious runners may also pursue the Trifecta, a unique opportunity to complete all three MCM Weekend events through a combination of in-person and virtual events. In order to achieve the Trifecta, runners must run either the 47th Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) or the MCM50K live and the other two events virtually. The challenge will reward finishers with a stunning Bravo Zulu coin in addition to the corresponding finisher medals. Registration for the virtual 47th MCM and live and virtual MCM50K is currently open on www.marinemarathon.com.
The MCM Kids Run will take place on Saturday, October 29 in Arlington, Va. for kids ages 5 to 12. In addition to the one mile fun run, kids from across the country will enjoy music, mascots and the interactive fun and fitness festival geared to kids. All participants will receive a finisher medal, participant shirt and a variety of healthy snacks, courtesy of Sodexo. Registration costs $15.
Families may choose for their young runner to participate in any of the waves running every 15 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. School group registration is also available. The five schools that register the largest number of students to participate in the MCM Kids Run will be presented the Healthy School Award, sponsored by Sodexo. The Healthy School Award is a monetary prize presented to the winning schools’ physical education departments.
This year will mark the return of both live events after a two year hiatus. The MCM10K ran virtually in 2020 and 2021, while the MCM Kids Run was not offered either year.
