Puerto Rican Olympian Beverly Ramos aiming to break her own event record
WHAT:
More than 13,000 runners are expected to race the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile, which will finish in front of Yankee Stadium. It is the fourth event of the NYRR Five Borough Series, which showcases NYRR’s renewed commitment to the individuals and communities in each borough. Many of the runners will be using the race as a tune-up for the TCS New York City Marathon, and the event will also feature several runners from local Bronx running clubs such as Boogie Down Bronx and Bronx Sole.
The day will also include Rising New York Road Runners races for youth and a free Rising New York Road Runners festival for kids ages 2 to 18 just past the finish line. Puerto Rican Olympian Beverly Ramos, the event-record holder, will take part in the 10 Mile race and then join the Rising New York Road Runners at the festival.
