Live & Virtual Registration Announced for June MCMO Events

Marine Corps Marathon Organization Adds New Event to June Lineup

QUANTICO, VA (February 17, 2021) – Registration for the Belleau Wood 8K and the new Crossroads Trail 15K will open today at noon ET. In addition to the live versions of these events on Saturday, June 19 aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, virtual options will be available.

Participants will run the popular 4.97-mile course in the Belleau Wood 8K. New to the event calendar is the Crossroads Trail 15K, which sends participants on a 9.3-mile off-road journey traversing the hills and trails of the Crossroads of the Corps.

Both live events will be limited-capacity with multiple, separate starts. The Crossroads Trail 15K will be divided into two social-distanced start times to be held at 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., while the Belleau Wood 8K will begin at 11 a.m.

Each event costs $46 per entry for the live and virtual versions. Runners may register directly into the live event. Participants in both the virtual and in-person events will receive the official event shirt and a spectacular finisher medal.

There will be no Crossroads Challenge this year, but ambitious runners can sign up for the exclusive Distinguished Participant Medal, earned for a year of running with the Marines.

To qualify for this coveted title, runners must register for four specific events in 2021, either in person or virtual. Only one event from each tier below may count towards Distinguished Participant:

  • Tier One: Quantico Crucible
  • Tier Two: Historic Half events (13.1, Semper 5ive or Devil Dog Double);
  • Tier Three: Belleau Wood 8K or Crossroads Trail 15K;
  • Tier Four: Quantico Duathlon or Quantico 12K;
  • Tier Five: Turkey Trot 10K or Semper Fun Mile
