The 2021 Dave Orlowski Memorial Grant will be distributed to an organization within in the Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i community, home of the IRONMAN World Championship® and a location near and dear to Dave. Grantees will be announced on a date near Dave's birthdate of August 25 and will be selected by local Race Directors.
“The passing of one of IRONMAN’s beloved original heroes has been difficult for all of us in the triathlon `ohana,” said Shane Facteau, Board of Directors, President for the IRONMAN Foundation and Chief Operating Officer for The IRONMAN Group. “As a community, we will continue to chase for the standards that Dave Orlowski set for triathlon and will aim to carry on his courage, empathy, perseverance, and optimism within the communities that we serve.”
