Breanna Sieracki, Kevin Lewis to Compete at USATF Outdoor Championships in Des Moines July 21-24, along with Training Partner Joel Reichow
Minneapolis/St. Paul – June 19, 2018 – Team USA Minnesota’s Breanna Sieracki and Kevin Lewis, along with training partner Joel Reichow, will be among the competitors at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships that will be held at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines July 21-24. Sieracki will compete in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase, while Lewis and Reichow will run in the men’s 10,000 meter race.
Sieracki (nee Colbenson) has a best of 9:56 in the steeple and was accepted for the championships with a time of 10:06. She is a 2017 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she was an eight time NCAA D2 All-American – three times in cross country and five times on the track. Sieracki is a native of Spring Valley, Wisconsin, and joined Team USA Minnesota last fall.
The first round of the women’s steeplechase will be contested on Thursday, July 21, at 1:50 p.m. The final will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 3:20 p.m.
Iowa native Lewis is ranked seventh on the list of competitors for the men’s 10,000m, qualifying with a time of 28:32.06. He grew up in Ottumwa and won the Iowa Class 4A State Championship 1600m and 3200m titles at Drake as a prep. At the University of Iowa, the All-American set the Hawkeye school record in the 5000m of 13:43.70 and also competed in cross country. He graduated from Iowa in 2015 and joined Team USA Minnesota in January 2017.
Reichow was accepted into the 10,000m event with a time of 28:56.24. He is from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, and ran collegiately at South Dakota State University, graduating in 2017. Reichow has been training with Team USA Minnesota since last fall.
The men’s 10,000m final will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 7:40 p.m.
