Five Team USA Minnesota Runners to Compete at USA Club Cross Country Champs in Spokane Dec. 8; Meghan Peyton Sets 2:36 PR at USA Marathon Champs
Minneapolis/St. Paul – Dec. 5, 2018 – Five Team USA Minnesota distance runners – Katy Jermann, Breanna Sieracki, Joel Reichow, Kevin Lewis and Danny Docherty – will compete at the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships that will be held in Spokane, Washington, on Dec. 8.
Jermann and Sieracki will run in the Open Women’s 6k that starts at 12:45 p.m. (Pacific time). Reichow, Lewis and Docherty are entered in the Open Men’s 10k that will go off at 1:30 p.m. Some 290 women and over 450 men will compete in the Open fields.
The championships are a selection race for the team that will travel to Stirling, United Kingdom, to represent the United States at the Great Stirling Cross Country International Challenge on Jan. 12. At the Challenge race, the Open Women will again run the 6k distance while the Open Men will run the 8k.
USA Marathon Championships – Dec. 2
Meghan Peyton ran a personal best time of 2:36:26 (previous best was 2:37:33) to finish 19th overall at the USATF Marathon Championships that were held on Dec. 2 in Sacramento. Her time is an ‘A’ qualifier for the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials that will be held in Atlanta in February 2020.
