Six Team USA Minnesota Athletes to Run in the Life Time Turkey Day Minneapolis 5k on Nov. 22
Minneapolis/St. Paul – Nov. 20, 2018 – Six Team USA Minnesota distance runners – Heather Kampf, Meghan Peyton, Breanna Sieracki, Emi Trost, Joel Reichow and Danny Docherty – will be among the participants at the 30th annual Life Time Turkey Day Minneapolis 5k on Nov. 22.
The distance runners will join an expected signup of 8,500 for the Thanksgiving Day tradition. Participants are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item on race day to help support the Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank.
Kampf won the women’s race last year and will run in the event this year along with teammates Peyton, Sieracki and Trost. Reichow and Docherty will represent the Team USA Minnesota men.
Kampf is training for the 2019 indoor track season along with Trost. Next up for Peyton will be the USATF Marathon Championships which will be held in conjunction with the California International Marathon in Sacramento on Dec. 2. Sieracki, Reichow and Docherty plan to compete in the USATF Club Cross Country Championships in Spokane on Dec. 8.
The race begins at 8:00 a.m. It starts and finishes near the Life Time Fitness Target Center with a course that goes through the streets of downtown Minneapolis and along the Mississippi River.
