Danny Docherty to Run Rockin Rib 10k Nov. 18; Joel Reichow, Breanna Sieracki Win USATF MN XC Champs; Heather Kampf 5th at Brooks Desert Mile

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Nov. 14, 2018 – Team USA Minnesota’s Danny Docherty will compete in Flanigan’s Rockin Rib Run 10k in Davie, Florida, on Nov. 18.  This past weekend, Joel Reichow and Breanna Sieracki won their respective races at the USATF Minnesota Cross Country Championships on Nov. 11, and Heather Kampf was fifth at the Brooks Beasts Desert Throwdown Mile in Las Vegas, also on Nov. 11.

This will be the sixth annual Rockin Rib Run 10k which starts at 7:00 a.m. (East Coast time).  Docherty was fifth at this race last year.

At the USATF Minnesota Cross Country Championships, which were held on a snow-covered course at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve in the Twin Cities, Reichow won the men’s open race and Sieracki the women’s.  Next up for both runners will be the USATF Club Cross Country Championships on Dec. 8 which will be held in Spokane.

In Las Vegas, Kampf finished in fifth place with a time of 4:43 at the brand-new Desert Throwdown Mile which was run on the Las Vegas Strip.  The race was hosted by Brooks Running and the Rock N Roll Marathon series.

Of note, the 16th edition of the Monterey Bay Half Marathon – where Meghan Peyton and Katy Jermann were going to compete -  was cancelled due to unhealthy smoke conditions from the fires in Southern California.  Both runners had traveled to the race scheduled for Nov. 11 and have since returned home.
