Danny Docherty to Run Cape Cod Half Marathon Oct. 27; Kevin Lewis, Breanna Sieracki Win TCO Vikings 5k Oct. 20
Minneapolis/St. Paul – Oct. 23, 2018 – Team USA Minnesota’s Danny Docherty will head east this weekend to run in the Cape Cod Half Marathon in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on Oct. 27. The race, which hugs the Falmouth coastline of Nantucket Sound, begins at 7:30 am. (Eastern).
Docherty has a best in the half marathon of 1:04:09, which he set at the 2018 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon last June. He is preparing this fall to debut in the marathon at the Chevron Houston Marathon on Jan. 20.
At the TCO (Twin Cities Orthopedics) Vikings 5k that was held on Oct. 20, Kevin Lewis won the event in 15:05, with Breanna Sieracki winning the women’s race in 16:52 followed by teammate Dakota Lindwurm in second place with a time of 18:04.
Lewis ran the race as a tune-up for the USATF 5k Championships which will be held in New York City on Nov. 3. Sieracki is preparing for fall cross country competitions including the USATF Minnesota Cross Country Championships on Nov. 11 and then the USATF Club Cross Country Championships in Spokane on Dec. 8. Lindwurm is training for her debut in the marathon at the USATF Marathon Championships, hosted by the California International Marathon in Sacramento, on Dec. 2.
The TCO Vikings 5k, which was held at the TCO Stadium in Eagan had over 2,100 participants.
