Marine Corps Historic Half Offers Technology Innovations

Historic Half App, Track A Runner Service and the Cheer App Enhance the Event Experience

QUANTICO, VA (May XX, 2018) – The 2018 Marine Corps Historic Half technology services are now available and ready to support the thousands of runners and spectators during Marine Corps Historic Half Weekend from May 18-20 in Fredericksburg, VA. The updated Historic Half App, Track A Runner service and the new Motigo Cheer App are accessible on www.marinemarathon.com on the Historic Half Interactive webpage. A digital version of Glory, the Historic Half event program, is also available online.

Runners and spectators can download the redesigned Historic Half App to have event information available at their fingertips. The Historic Half App sports a new patriotic design that is easy-to-use and features course maps, detailed event weekend schedules, parking and shuttle details, Healthy Lifestyle Expo information, social feeds and the Track A Runner service. Other highlighted content includes weather forecasts, spectator tips and live finish results.

The Track A Runner service can be accessed through the Historic Half App or on www.marinemarathon.com. Track A Runner allows runners, friends and family to get live, instant updates for a specific runner or runners from the course at the 5k, 10k and 20k markers and finish line. All updates can be shared instantly on social media feeds such as Facebook and Twitter or delivered automatically by email or text message. Register for this service by entering the runner’s name or bib number on the event website or through the app.

The Motigo Cheer App debuts in 2018 as the go-to app for spectators to spread cheer. The new Motigo Cheer App allows spectators, family and friends to pre-record cheers that can be played for the runners while they are on the course. This app is free and motivates runners with personal messages while also having course information readily available.

Limited entries remain available for the Marine Corps Historic Half, Semper 5ive and Devil Dog Double. Visit www.marinemarathon.com to register or for more information about Marine Corps Historic Half Weekend.
