Seven Team USA Minnesota Runners Coaching Cross Country Teams this Fall; Ryan Rutherford, Kevin Lewis Go 1-2 at Twin Cities Orthopedics Vikings 5k; Cow Harbor 10k Results
Minneapolis/St. Paul – Sept. 19, 2017 – Seven Team USA Minnesota runners are coaching either university or high school cross country teams in the Twin Cities area this fall while they also train for upcoming road races, work at jobs in their career fields and in the case of one athlete, pursue a master’s degree. The distance runners are coaching at the following schools:
. Meghan Peyton – head men’s and women’s cross country coach at Augsburg University.
. Danny Docherty – volunteer assistant men’s cross country coach at the University of Minnesota.
. Heather Kampf – girl’s cross country head coach at Apple Valley High School.
. Katy Moen – head boy’s and girl’s cross country coach at Totino-Grace High School.
. Ryan Rutherford – assistant boy’s and girl’s cross country coach at Champlin Park High School.
. Tyler Jermann – volunteer assistant boy’s cross country coach at Edina High School.
. Rob Molke – volunteer assistant boy’s cross country coach at Edina High School.
Race Results – Sept. 16
Team USA Minnesota’s Ryan Rutherford won the Twin Cities Orthopedics Vikings 5k in downtown Minneapolis on Sept. 16 with Kevin Lewis placing second in a race that finished on the 50-yard line of the Vikings football stadium. The results were a repeat of the last time the teammates went head-to-head which was at the Brian Kraft 5k in Minneapolis last May.
Rutherford’s time was 14:55 and Lewis finished in 15:05. More than 3,200 runners participated in the TCO Vikings 5k.
At the Cow Harbor 10k on Saturday morning in the Long Island Village of Northport, New York, Rob Molke was ninth with a time of 30:24 and Jon Peterson placed 15th in 31:20.
