Team USA Minnesota Runners to Compete at USA, 1 Mile Road Championships, Drake Relays, Get in Gear 10k during Week of April 24
Minneapolis/St. Paul – April 24, 2017 – The Team USA Minnesota distance runners will compete this week at the USA 1 Mile Road Championships on April 25, the Drake Relays on April 27, and at the Get in Gear 10k on April 29.
Meghan Peyton and Jamie Cheever will be among the competitors at the USA 1 Mile Road Championships on Tuesday. The event is also the first stop on the Bring Back The Mile Tour 2017. The women’s elite race is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on the streets of downtown Des Moines. The championships are being held in conjunction with the Grand Blue Mile.
At the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Kevin Lewis will compete in the 5000 meters on Thursday evening in the open men’s field on the Grand Blue Oval track on the Drake University campus.
In Minneapolis on Saturday, Jon Peterson – along with training partners Danny Docherty and Josh Dedering – will run in the 40th annual Get in Gear 10k which will be held at Minnehaha Park. The 10k race will start at 9:00 a.m.
