LOUISVILLE, CO, Aug. 14, 2017/Athlinks showcases almost real-time participant media delivery to participants (and spectators) at the 2017 Blueprint for Athletes Leadville Trail 100 MTB. Within 5 seconds of the photo being taken by Canon DSLR cameras, participant images were made available for viewing and instant downloadable access in their personal galleries via the Athlinks mobile app and the Athlinks.com site. Images were made available for free download courtesy of the official media sponsor. The whole plan came to together back in January when Sean P. Walkinshaw, Athlinks Services Digital Media Product Manager, identified an opportunity to provide wireless infrastructure to Leadville and connect the athletes to something they love. “The focused efforts created a connected environment that allowed our photography team to deliver an unparalleled experience to participants at the event: 5 seconds to market”, noted Sean P. Walkinshaw. As participants crossed the finish line and looked at their results for the first time, they also saw their finish line photo creating an instant shareable & downloadable experience powered by the Athlinks platform. The Athlinks Services Digital Media Division captured in excess 58,000 images branded with event and official media sponsor logo creating over 512,500 impressions, 34,642 likes and 3,324 comments on Facebook alone in less than 24 hours after the event for the 1,267 finishers. “As the endurance photography market continues its shift to creating shareable experiences to the athletes & spectators, real-time delivery of media content will be the victor in this new market place”, Mr. Walkinshaw echoes to the industry.
