Unveiling Giesswein Footwear's First Ever Merino Wool Sneaker

Lewiston, Maine (February 16th, 2017)  Giesswein Footwear welcomes you to the upcoming MAGIC and FN PLATFORM shows in Las Vegas where it will debut the Merino Wool Tennie. Made with sustainable practices, this fetching outdoor active lifestyle shoe is part shoe, part sneaker and the first offering of its kind from Geiesswein.

The Merino Wool Tennie is constructed with a soft and breathable boiled wool exterior and lining to keep feet warm in the winter and cool in warmer temperatures. With a cushioned sole and arch support, Giesswein brings indoor comfort all over town.

The Merino sneaker features a removable EcoOrthoLite footbed lined with Giesswein's unique 100% boiled wool merino/lambswool knit. The combination of the EcoOrthoLite bio-based formulation and Giesswein's natural wool is in keeping with our environmentally sensitive production methods. The whole foot is wrapped in 100% natural, breathable, moisture-wicking merino wool, offering 360 degree comfort.

Giesswein has integrated an EVA outsole that is super light and shock absorbing for optimal comfort and stability. The toe box is reinforced with soft but sturdy polymer/jute fiber for added durability and strength.

The Merino Wool Tennie looks as good as it feels. Throw it in your suitcase for a weekend away, or wear it around town, this innovative urban play shoe is both a daily luxury and a sanctuary for your feet.

About Giesswein:

In 1954, Walter and Elisabeth launched Giesswein to share their passion for wool with the world. Three generations later, the Giesswein family hasn't lost sight of the Austrian heritage that informs and inspires each unique design to this day. All Giesswein wool is crafted in the scenic Alpine village of Brixlegg overlooking the Inn River. No matter what you select from Giesswein today, know that it was made with the same dedication to craftsmanship that Walter and Elisabeth knit in to the very first garments they made only for family and friends.

Today Giesswein is available worldwide. 'Wool is Cool brings Giesswein's Austrian heritage to you from our U.S. offices in Maine. A family-owned and operated importer to the U.S. for 10 years, Giesswein USA offers the same custom service and attention to detail you receive from the Giesswein family in Austria. The Giesswein collections are available through specialty resorts, footwear and outdoor retailers, and select online retailer partners.
