Team USA Minnesota Runners to Compete at
Mt. SAC Relays
April 15; Heather Kampf to
Run B.A.A. Invitational Mile in Boston April 16
Minneapolis/St. Paul –
April 12, 2016 – Three Team USA Minnesota runners
– Biya Simbassa, Meghan Peyton and Katy
Moen – will compete in the 5000 meters at
the Mt. SAC Relays in California on April 15, while Heather
Kampf will run in the B.A.A. Professional
Invitational Mile in Boston on April 16.
The 5000 meter races will
be held as part of the Mt. SAC (San Antonio College)
Relays Distance Carnival and Invitational on Friday
evening. The women’s invitational 5000m will
start at 7:45 p.m. and the men’s 5000m sections will
begin at 8:20 p.m. (both times Pacific).
Simbassa has a best in the
distance of 13:54, while Peyton has posted 15:41 in
the 5000m and Moen has a best of 15:52. The
three athletes are officially opening their 2016
outdoor track season at Mt. SAC.
In Boston, the women’s
invitational mile will start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday
(Eastern time), two days before the Boston Marathon.
The three loop course ends at the marathon finish line
on Boylston Street.
This will be Kampf’s
fourth appearance at the B.A.A. (Boston Athletic
Association) Mile, having finished second in both 2015
and 2014, and third in 2013. She has a best in
the road mile of 4:21 and is a three-time USA 1 Mile
